We are honoured to announce, hot on the heels of the Johnny Osbourne announcement, that the latest artist to be added to The London International Ska Festival 2024… is

Yet another bonafide, musical legend…
backed by the Dub Ashanti Band ft. Matic Horns.

And even more exciting… he will be joining the Misty In Roots bill at Camden’s historic Electric Ballroom for a world exclusive double bill. Plus support from Pama International, Louchie Lou & Michie One, DJ Sistren Shirley & more!

The sensational Horace Andy is without doubt a true great in the world of reggae and beyond. Having started his recording career in 1967 for producer – Phil Pratt, his breakthrough success came a few years later recording for Coxsonne Dodd at Studio One with tracks like; ‘Skylarking’, ‘Mr. Bassie’, ‘Fever’, ‘Every Tongue Shall Tell’. Singles for other producers Derrick Harriott, Ernest & Joseph Hoo Kim, Gussie Clarke and the superb ‘Money Money’ for Phil Pratt followed, however his most successful association came in the mid-70s with Bunny Lee. This era produced a series of singles now regarded as classics such as a re-recorded ‘Skylarking’, ‘Just Say Who’, ‘Don’t Try To Use Me’, ‘You Are My Angel’, ‘Zion Gate’, ‘I’ve Got to Get Away’, and ‘Something on My Mind‘.

Classic releases kept coming; 1977’s ‘In The Light’ album and its associated dub album, 1978’s album ‘Pure Ranking‘ anticipated the rise of dancehall reggae, for which he was a key figure in the early development of the genre, confirmed by 1982’s ‘Dance Hall Style‘ album. Right up to the present day with his latest critically acclaimed ‘Midnight Rocker‘ album.

His collaboration’s with Massive Attack, for whom he’s recorded on every one of their albums, has taken him to an even bigger global audience.

We are honoured to have Horace Andy returning to The London International Ska Festival for the third time! And the fact that he’s going to be part of this double headliner with Misty In Roots is going to make to some true great memories!
